Kids Sport & School Homework: A Balancing Act.
By 'Gbogo Adebayo-Ige

Balancing sports and homework is a very hard thing to do, as I have a very hard time with it.  Some kids have a problem on whether to do their homework, or go to their sports practice.  I play soccer, and I have practices Tuesdays and Thursdays every week. It starts at 5:30 P.M and I get home from school at around 3:45 P.M. and it’s a 30 minute drive from my house to where I practice. So, it is tough!  To add to the pain, I have homework in every subject (6 subjects) from Monday – Thursday.

Sometimes, what I do is to take my homework with me and do it to and fro practice.  Or, the easier way is to do part of it when you return from school and complete it when you come back from practice.  Afterall, the bible says that there is time for everything. So, it isn’t good to do just one thing and not do the other.

In conclusion, I think that it is a good idea to take your homework with you depending on what time your practice is.  However, do whatever suits you best as long as you get your school work done as well as participate in your favorite sport both at the right time!
