THAT I MAY KNOW HIM (Phil 3:10) |
||
|
How much of God do you ever desire to have? How frequent or often do you fellowship with Him? Or have you gotten to a point where you believe you have reached an OK level and all you are waiting for is either to be caught up with Him if He comes now or go to heaven if He chooses to call you home first? Beloved of the Lord, we never can have enough of Him. It’s just like the songwriter who wrote the song… more love, more power, more of You in my life….” In Genesis 28:13-22 (our last
e-Echo study) God revealed Himself to the “fleeing” Jacob, and renewed with
him again, His covenant with his fathers. This same Jacob, who God had told
He would not leave until He has fulfilled the promises He made to him, was
seeing in Gen. 32:22-30 wrestling with God. One wonders what else he wanted
from God after the way He had blessed him while with Laban. Guess what!
Jacob wanted more blessing!! Gen. 32:26 “… I will not let You go unless You
bless me!” Jacob’s request was not based on wealth or materialism; but he
wanted more of God! Paul the apostle was somebody every believer reckons with to be a man who accomplished and fulfilled God’s purpose for his life and ministry. Yet in Phil. 3:10, he was still yearning to have more of God when he wrote “…that I may know Him….” Let me bring it even nearer to us all, Evang. Billy Graham (a world renowned evangelist) in his auto biography “Just As I Am” said if he had to do it all over again, he would study his bible more… in order to know Him more. Imagine this! What is my/your passion today? What is my/your utmost DRIVE in this race of Christianity? I believe strongly that when we desire Him more than life itself, He would pour Himself in us to the overflow and there will be no stopping us! My dear brothers, sisters and co-laborers in the vineyard, let us lay aside every weight of sins, worldliness, hatred, differences etc among us and sit at His feet to learn of Him and know Him more. After all, they that know their God shall be strong and do great exploit! Knowing our God more through giving, praise and worship is what our concert on Oct. 28th is all about. Come; join us to praise Him Whose name is as powerful as His word! Shalom!!! Reni Adebayo-Ige BUY RENI'S CD FROM (click here) |
