FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Reni Awards Education Scholarship for an Orphan in Sierra-Leone Philadelphia gospel artist – Reni Adebayo-Ige (bio)– is making a difference in the life of an orphan in the West African country of Sierra-Leone. Dauda, 14, is a 7th grade student in Freetown, Sierra-Leone and has a very pathetic story. His mother died during childbirth and the war in the country claimed the life of his father. Reni has awarded full scholarship for Dauda's education up to high school. The award covers tuition, books and boarding. Reni, who herself was
orphaned at the age of seven, wants to make a difference in the life of
orphans like Dauda; since she had experienced what it is like not to have parents from
childhood. Reni thus has established a scholarship funds for African Orphans.
She hopes to share the vision with many in order to
encourage others embark on similar projects or support her to raise
fund for the orphanage education initiatives. “Our goal is to increase the number of
scholarship awards to five this academic year,” said Reni Reni has released two gospel albums – “All Things Are Possible” and “I Believe.” Reni has an inspiring story of how she was orphaned at age 7 in a little town in Nigeria and how God’s favor has brought her thus far.
